Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla paste.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Chai Icing
In a medium bowl, beat the butter until creamy.
Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until smooth.
Add the chai syrup, vanilla paste and 1 tablespoon of milk, beating until well combined. Add more milk if needed to reach the desired consistency.
Once the cake is completely cool, spread the chai icing evenly over the top.
